About Me

Hi everyone.
My name is Marissa. I live in the Netherlands with my partner, two kids and a hooligan cat. My son is 9 years old and my daughter is 5. Dutch is my native tongue; English is a second language for me. I am an avid romance reader. When I am not busy with work, household stuff, friends or my family, I read romance novels and review them or try to lol. I am a paralegal, I draw up legal papers for my boss who is ingenious but forgetful and I try to keep him out of trouble. I am very organized at work but chaotic at home and I certainly have my Bridget Jones moments. I love to travel and enjoy a good glass of wine, I hate coffee and I am addicted to chocolate, hot men and gorgeous romance covers.

If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Marissa

  1. Hi Marissa!
My name is Raquel and I am from Brazil. I recently read a book from Lisa Valdez - Passion (I started to read Patience too but I haven´t finished yet). So, while I was surfing on the net for some information about her, I found your blog.
I have to admit, the first thing that called my atention was the word NETHERLAND! With the end of the world cup and the recent defeat of Brazil to Netherland, it was impossible to not think about it.
So, I was curious to read more about you. When you told that you lived a period complaining about the few books that were published in Dutch, I really felt a connection with you, because I suffered the same problem for some time, only in portuguese.
And the funniest thing is, my solution was the same than yours. I started to read in English too. And guess what? Who was one of the first authors that I started to read? Yeah, you are right Sherrilyn Kenyon. I have all of her books.
And I´ve already heard goods things of Karen Marie Moning too, and have plans to acquire her books very soon.
OH... One more thing, by the photo of your shelves I could recognize the best books ever written! My beloved ones, the reason of my being.. of course I am talking about the Black Dagger Brotherhood! =)
I don´t know if you have an account on GOODREADS, but it would be a pleasure have you as a friend there. You can find me as Quel Gontijo.
If you want to keep in touch or answer me, my e-mail is quel88@msn.com or rgontijofonseca@gmail.com
It was a pleasure visiting your blog!
    Have a nice weekend!
    Quel

  2. I'll like to take part in the review on your blog. The book was recently shortlisted into the second round of the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award, and will be published next month. It is my second novel, and is a multicultural contemporary romance set in Nigeria, Africa. Below is a description of the book - A Love Rekindled.

Ten years ago, Efe Sagay dreams of winning the United States Visa Lottery, until she meets Kevwe Mukoro in University. Kevwe is happy to remain in Nigeria; only he wants Efe by his side. Over time, Efe finds true love with Kevwe, and promises to marry him. Their dreams unravel when Efe wins an American Visa, and fresh violence erupts between their warring ethnic groups. Now, Efe is back in Nigeria, and she knows it’s a matter of time before Kevwe returns to her life. They finally meet again, but renewed desire is no match for bitter memories of heartbreak. Efe wants the traumatic events of the past resolved before she gives in to rekindled love.

    Thanks for a positive reply.
